  • Yoshi Minegishi was quite possibly the finest tennis player to grace the tennis courts at Sequoia High School. During his 3 year tennis career at Sequoia he compiled an incredible 62 win 1 loss record.. He was captain of the tennis team from 1956-1959 & was league champion during 1957, 1958, and 1959, and was the Northern California champion during 1957 & 1958. After his graduation from Sequoia, he attended Menlo College for one year, then Stanford University. He played #2 singles at Stanford during his sophomore year, and later played #1 singles during his junior and senior years. He was named second team All American during the 1961 tennis season at Stanford, and continues to play seniors tennis in Seattle and the northwest.
